I cannot believe one year has past since my journey began. February 24, 2014, I was admitted to the hospital for the first time...antibiotics, surgery, chemo, scans, tests, etc... filled up 2014.
2015 has been uneventful. I take my medications daily, have monthly doctor visits - usually 2 a month - and still deal with occasional shortness of breath and lack of energy.
The past 2 weeks I have noticed a cough coming on and wheezing. I went to my primary doctor last Friday who put me on a 5 day dose pack of steroids to know out whatever was going on with instructions to see my Pulmonary (lung) Doctor. I saw her today.
There is still localized wheezing on my left side - quite significant. The problem is, they removed my left lung!?!? I had thought the wheezing was on that side but thought it was my imagination, but I guess not.
So the plan is chest x-ray tomorrow or the next day. She thinks it is either pneumonia or another mass. Depending on what the x-ray shows, my CAT Scan that is scheduled for April 6th may be moved up to next week or the following week.
Overall, I feel good. Not like I did before - but my new normal :) I will keep everyone updated with these new events.
I realize it's been quite a while since I posted anything but as they say - NO news is good news. Love and thanks to all who send me cards, messages, phone calls and support - you get me through each day!!
